Tuesday, March 10, 2020, the Institute for Research and Community Service held a Technical Guidance for Research & Community Service Proposal for the Ministry of Research and Technology / BRIN DRPM 2020 Community at the UMA Convention Hall, 09.00 – 17.00 WIB.
The event was attended by speakers and National Certified Reviewers from the University of Riau (UNRI), Prof. Dr. Saryono, M.Sc. Chancellor of Medan Area University, Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng, M.Sc also attended this activity. Also attending was the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ir. Siti Mardiana, M.Sc, Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Muazzul, SH, M.Hum, and Deputy Chancellor for Collaboration, Dr. Ir. Zulheri Noer, MP.
Head of LP2M UMA, Dr. Ir. Sumihar Hutapea, MS, conveyed “The purpose of technical guidance is that lecturers who have prepared research proposals or community service can get enlightenment and also we are guided technically and specifically and maybe we will also be given tips – tricks on how we should write a proposal that is feasible and later is expected to pass the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education grants.
Dr. Ir. Sumihar Hutapea also delivered a report related to the results of the FGD Research and PKM activities conducted previously that had a positive impact on lecturers to have enthusiasm in writing research proposals and community service. This is evident from the number of proposals submitted to LP2M which is very significant. Next Dr. Ir. Sumihar Hutapea, MS conveyed the number of proposals that had been submitted based on the Faculty and Study Program.
Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng, M.Sc in his speech said that this technical guidance activity is very important to improve the quality and number of research proposals and community service which is also a parameter in supporting higher education accreditation. Prof. Dadan also said that the Foundation has a strong commitment in supporting research and community service. Every proposal that passes the funding of the Ministry of Research and Technology / BRIN DRPM will be given rewards and outcomes generated by lecturers. Then the event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng, M.Sc, followed by a group prayer.
Prof. Dr. In his material, Saryono, M.Si said that writing a proposal was not difficult as long as he followed the Guideline for Research and Community Service 12th Edition (Revised). Prof. Saryono also conveyed the research schemes and PKM that can be taken by lecturers, what are the differences, how the outputs should be produced, and Prof. Saryono also gave tips and tricks so that proposals can pass the Evaluation Desk and the Ministry of Research and Technology / BRIN funding. The event then ended with a question and answer session and a photo session with the resource person.
The event then continued with guidance and review of Research and Community Service proposals at 13.30 – 17.00 WIB and ended with giving souvenirs to the resource person, Prof. Dr. Saryono, M.Sc.
